Job Overview:

Location: Gibsons, Sunshine Coast, B.C.
Salary: Candidate dependent, 40 – 60 hrs per week
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent. Mon-Fri
Workplace Type: Truck driving to and from Gibsons to Vancouver/Lower Mainland plus Forklift/Tractor on site at Quality Garden & Pet.
Work Schedule For Driving: Day, Some Evenings, Early Morning Start (based on the ferry schedule), 2 – 3 days per week depending on the season.
Work Schedule On-Site: 9:00am – 5:00pm on the days driving is not required.

Job Overview, Driving:

  • The successful candidate must have a clear driving record and will be tested for their overall trucking knowledge and safety procedures.
  • Training 2-3 days per week to learn the supplier pick-up routes, the handling and off-loading of product both en-route and back at Quality, until candidate is familiar with the routes and procedures.
  • Driver must be able to reschedule BC Ferry reservation changes and liaise with suppliers where necessary.
  • Driver must keep an updated driver logbook.

Job Overview, On Site:

  • Operate forklift to off-load product and transfer skids of product to different areas of work place.
  • Operate tractor to load soil and soil amendments into customers trucks or trailers.
  • General maintenance of property e.g. fill in pot holes in parking lot, snow removal etc.
  • Bulk hay off-loading.
  • General support to staff/business.

Job Requirements:

Candidate must be:

  • Presentable as you will be the face of our company.
  • Able to lift at least 50lbs.
  • Able to have access to a cell phone.
  • A capable 5T truck driver.
  • Organized, reliable, efficient at time management and enjoy working with people.
  • Speak, read and write English fluently.
